Great Northern Boat Show
I know it's early. I know it's not even ice in yet. I know we haven't even really seen winter yet......BUT....there is a posting for the Great American Boat Show at the Hampshire dome in Milford on March 20-22.
Anybody else ready? |
Someone is also running an add on the radio for upcoming boat show in Bedford NH. No dates or details...they might be just trying to drum up interest.
|
I for one love boat show season, to me it means boating time is close.

http://www.nyboatshow.com/ The bad news is that you will see a lot of beautiful boats and realize that you are just one winning lottery ticket away from having one of them. |
I've been to that one but prefer the Lauderdale show so I can actually go out on the water. But agree NY show is big.

Love the start of the New Year...
January is the New England RV show, an excuse to head into Boston and end the day with a pub crawl, then take Concord Coach back out to Concord.
February is the Boston Boat show, an excuse to head into Boston and end the day with a pub crawl, then take Concord Coach back out to Concord. March this year will be the NE Boat show at the Hampshire Dome, an excuse to end the day with dinner and a drink or two with friends down in Amherst. March or April will be the NE RV show at the Hampshire Dome, an excuse to end the day with dinner and a drink or two with friends down in Amherst. Then, it is a short wait for ice out, boat in, golf course open, fly rod at the ready... let the fun begin. :D |

Just a Reminder
This boat show is this weekend at the Hampshire Dome in Milford.
Might be a good way to help forget about all this cold weather....and did somebody say SNOW this weekend? I don't usually mind the winter too much, but COLD and SNOW have become nasty 4 letter words this winter. Think Spring! |
Does anyone have any free tickets? If so I may go, just for something to do.
If not, I may pass, as there wasn't much of interest the last two times that I went. |
You missed it...

We went Saturday morning, and the crowds were down because at 10:00, when the show opened, it was snowing in the Milford / Amherst area, and the side roads were a little slick. As we left during early afternoon, the parking lot was filling up. |
thanks for the report.
|
We also went, but I was disappointed in how few accessories were for sale--I know it's a boat show, but I was hoping to pick up a couple things.
|
I agree. I was there on Saturday morning and it felt like a flashback to last year and the year before. I will go so far as to say I bet some of the marinas had the same boats on display.
It would have been nice if there had been some booths displaying accessories and maybe even some of the latest electronics. But, if you were looking for replacement windows for your home or cottage, you were in luck because there was a window vendor there. A MA boat dealer had a Cobalt Marker I on display. Did anybody else look under the boat? There was no aluminum protecting the wood and it looked like the worst welding job I've ever seen on the lifting strakes. I haven't seen anything as shoddy as far as welding goes even on the price point boats that were there. At $100K plus, I would have expected something better. |

I know it takes time for shows like this to grow, for now unless I have a free ticket and absolutely nothing else to do, I'll skip it, unless it changes considerably. |
Agree with Rich
I like to see the 'gadgets' available for boating.
I had the experience to attend CES (Consumer Electronics Show) several years and ago and I saw electronics for boats that I can ever imagine! I wish I could experience gadgets in the North East :liplick: |
