Presidential Grille
Hi Everyone, Long time reader – first time poster. I have read this forum for a couple of years now with interest and it’s time I contributed with what I think you may find of value.
My wife and I had dinner Sunday night at the Presidential Grille in Bristol. The restaurant is located in downtown Bristol at the intersection of routes 104 and 3A. It opened for business this fall, I believe, and replaced the Alias Smith and Jones restaurant. We have dined at lakes regions restaurants for the last 25 years and since we moved here in ’99 have dined weekly. I think we have been to all but a handful of restaurants and this one in among the best. The food is exceptional, the establishment is very clean, the wait staff very friendly with good service, the décor is fascinating, and the prices are very reasonable. The owner is a native of Bristol and served as the Director of Presidential Food Service at the White House for several presidents. The head Chef is from Switzerland and has quite a resume. You can find more info on there web site at http://www.thepresidentialgrille.com/. This may be out of the way for many of you but it would be worth the trip. We will be trying the Barn and Grille in Guilford next. That sounds like it would be a good place to eat as well. Thanks for letting me monitor your forum and I hope this is some payback for all the good advice and info that I have found. Greenskeeper |

My bad. My wife is from Guilford CT. That spelling is just an old habit. As for the handle, I work at a local golf course and you would think I would be a good golfer but not so. I play but not well.
Thanks for the welcome. I will try to contribute more often. |
Welcome Greenskeeper...wife and I are golfers, so we say "Thanks for taking care of the course, which ever one it may be." We always appreciate the efforts of those people who are up at 4 AM mowing and cleaning so we can enjoy our 7:30 tee time. And thanks for the review and again welcome to the forum. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_12_5.gif

Hello Greenskeeper. We'll give the grille a try. Menu and prices looked great.
Interestingly, Gilford was originally spelled Guilford. Quote:
