Groundhog Day

This guy was right outside of my bathroom window. I shot this from about 3 feet away, through a window and screen. I'm sure that he was not aware of my presence due to the glass and screen, otherwise I would have never got the shot.

Great pic. I have them around my house every once in a while. they are very nervous critters. One wrong blink and off they scamper.

Here is one in my back yard.

No woodchucks!

One of these damnable creatures created a network of tunnels under our yard. Twice now, one of us has fallen through the lawn into a tunnel, nearly breaking a knee. The woodchuck, which has to constantly munch on stuff to keep its teeth from growing too much, consumed a goodly part of the exterior trim of my garage. Once we got rid of the rodent (thank you Tom Boucher of Alpha Omega Wildlife)-we replaced the trim with plastic-looks good, not tasty. I have heard that tossing dirty cat litter into the tunnels will encourage the woodchuck to move away. He did a lot of damage to our lawn and house. They are not cute.

Groundhogs

I completely agree Donna! This rodent can be an unbelievable pest.

Both shots are great pictures. These animals can be hard to shoot. Personally, I prefer shooting them with a gun. ;)
