Looking for the Summer Weekend Cottage/Trailer - Need Input

My Family is looking for a summer weekend small cottage/trailer. Water front/water access with a dock. NOT rundown. I know prices are still way out there. A boat dock/mooring is a must.

We would prefer the big lake, but are open to Winnisquam, Squam, and Newfound Lake.

We have kids, all ages from 2-14, so keeping them entertained is a must.

Any thoughts?

Fear not! You're a little late but there must be something still available for you.

At the top of the page there is a button "Quick Links." One of the options is "Lake Links" This will bring you to a list of board sponsors by category.

http://www.winnipesaukee.com/links/

These include "Real Estate," "Rentals," "Camping" and "Summer Camps." That last one did include one or two places for families when I looked at it last year. That type of activity may not suit everybody but some folks enjoy it.

Good luck!

You could try Preferred Properties Rental team in Center Harbor. It seems to me the last time I passed by there, thier sign flashed a message that they still had some places available....

Hummm As I look up it appears they are a sponsor of the website as well.....and are officially refered to as "Preferred Vacation Rentals"

Rent or Buy?

it wasn't clear from the original post whether the objective is weekly or longterm rental, or a purchase?

Most of the responses refer to rental resources, but I wonder if that was the goal?

Try the Windrifter Resort in Wolfeboro.

Long Term

Looking for a longterm investment.

There is a place on Newfound lake called Brookside ( May be incorrect on that ). it is still being built and should open late this summer. However, it is $ 100k for a 40k trailer, no land. They are SUPER nice, modern, tons of restrictions to keep the park up and running.

However, whats the reality of reselling the 100k unit ( worth only 40k new ) in 5 year without a loss, if need be.

Couple of ideas

Jason,

Sorry for misunderstanding I thought you where looking for a short term rental. But if your looking for someplace like you describe, check Arcadia Campground. It is in Moultonborough, and they may have some lots available possibly without a trailer so that you can buy your own.....I had a buddy rent a lot some years ago and it seem to be a very nice place.....The only issue for you that I can think of is that Dock space was limited....especially if you have a boat of any length.....We had some 18' in there and it was tight.......

Another place to check would be what I believe is called Long Island Camp Ground also in Moultonborough right on Moultonborough Neck Road. (someone correct me if I don't have the name right)....THey have some moorings and then of course Trexlers marina and the Yacht club next door.........
