Cathedral Ledge webcam, North Conway

At about 400' high, it's a solid grey granite piece of New Hampshire that rises up out of the flat fields, a few miles west of North Conway's Route 16 commercial zone, and it has an asphalt paved, two lane, town road that is steep, seasonal, and winds its way up to the top of Cathedral Ledge. Park the car at the top, make sure the brake is set good, and walk about 50-yards across to the flat top area of the cliffs. A 4-foot high, chain link fence installed into the granite, keeps you safe from getting too close to the edges, as you watch the climbers, male & female, slowly work their way up a compound and complex 400' vertical granite cliff area. Cathedral Ledge has been a rock climbing area for many years, and it's maybe not too unusual (I have no clue) to watch climbers inching their way up the 400' vertical, granite routes on www.neclimbs.com/?pagename=webcam

If you make the trip to Cathedral Ledge on a good weather day, it's best to bring along some binoculars for better viewing from the bottom, looking up, as well from the top, looking down or across. It's an easy and interesting side trip from shopping North Conway or maybe enroute from hiking or driving up/down Mt Washington.

Suggest you take a peek at the "instant bug report" on the upper right hand corner of the webcam page.
