Hello,
I bought a SH190i and Bizar chip for Winni, tried it out, and found the boat icon travels off the screen instead of remaining stationary(like a car gps) and the screen progressing to show forward movement. It is nessesary to manually forward the screen with the toggle button in order to keep the icon in view so you can watch where you are on the screen and view the hazards, ect...

I haven't called the dealer or SH yet, wanted to run it by here first.

Does anyone know how to adjust the settings to reverse this, so the screen will scroll automatically to show movement, and the boat icon will remain at the bottom of the screen? I did try to adjust this in the settings, but have failed so far.

I appreciate all suggestions and you taking the time to help.

Peter

I'm looking for opinions on living broadside (or north-east side), on Winni islands.

1. How many days a season do you fine yourself stuck on the island (or on the shore)?

2. How often do you find yourself freezing and wishing you lived someplace where the sun might shine for more than a couple hours a day?

3. Do you dare leave your nice boat unattended on the island during a storm (even with a breakwater)? Do you have mainland slips for your "nice" boat and your "work" boat?

4. How do you protect your dock in the winter?

Plus any other big pluses (I know... big view, lower cost) or minuses you might think of...

Me, I'm enthralled by the views and the raw nature of it all, but it's easy when you only visit on nice days.

Hi...Not sure if general discussion is place I should post this...newbie to this site and to lakehouse ownership. We purchased a home in Meredith Bay and have a 26' Chapparell boat. We are quickly realizing the water is very rough there on weekends with boat traffic! We have had whips installed that should handle 10,000 pounds (our boat weighs 5200 lbs). Two weekends ago one of the ropes on the whip broke. Last weekend the whip itself actually snapped in two. Our dock is the aluminum kind that is raised in winter and lowered in summer. Is an expensive boat lift in our near future or is there another option? I understand it takes four weeks for a mooring permit to be processed (if it is approved). Is that our best option? Suggestions welcome! J

Noticed several ground down areas on RT25 these days. So are they going to pave the whole road? Or are they just going to pave those little repairs where they ground down the road?
That road needs paving big time. It is terrible at the very best. Just wondering if anyone knows what is going on?

I searched the Johnson site www.johnson.com/ which brough me to
the website for BRP USA......

Digging a little deeper on internet, much to my surprise, I've found Bombardier Recreational Products no longer sells outboards under the Johnson brand, and they have moved all sales entirely to Evinrude Outboard Motors.

When did this happen, maybe I've been living in the dark too long or out of touch with the outboard community?

Anyway, looks like the closest Evinrude dealer on the lake is Thurston's Marine at the Weirs.

Red Hill Road to Bean Road to Squam lake Road to Range Rd to Sheridan Rd back to Whittier HW. It looks to be about 12 miles around, good for part of the ride I guess.

What are these roads like? I can see that they circle around Red Hill, but are these roads all UPHILL? I realize that there has to be some rise to them, but are we talking Tour-de-France type hills, or just your basic Owe, that hurt hills?

Thanks!

PS: If anyone can recommend a better circle route (20-30 miles) that would be great!

We live in a location that frequently loses power in the winter. Eventhough we're several 100 feet from any neighbor the drone of 8-10 generators gets very annoying after awhile.
