Cold Feet, Wool Socks, and the Home Inspection

Posted 09-01-2012 at 10:15 AM by Roy Sanborn

I've been busy this week with three home inspections which is great and means I am selling something. Well, sometimes that is. Sometimes, things come unglued because of the home inspection process. The Winnipesaukee Tunnel Project

Posted 08-28-2012 at 01:10 PM by Roy Sanborn

Residential home sales in our Lakes Region communities were not what I had hoped for in July. I was planning on a summer of love… real estate love, that is. Lots of sales, happy sellers, happy buyers. I was predicting, anticipating, and forecasting that we would have a month where sales would top 100 for the month. Nope, not in July. Your Lakes Region Real Estate Horoscope

Posted 08-10-2012 at 09:32 AM by Roy Sanborn

The residential home inventory level in our Lakes Region report bumped up an inch or two from 1328 homes available on July 1 to 1351 available as of August 1 at an average asking price of $491,503. The median price point is at $259,900. The current inventory level represents a 20 month supply of homes on the market. We are down, however, from the 1412 homes available on August 1, 2011.

Marketing Matters

Posted 08-03-2012 at 04:19 PM by Roy Sanborn

Selling a home in this market can be challenging to say the least. I talk a lot about setting the right price and creating real value for any prospective buyers that are about to look at your home, but there really is a lot more to selling a home than just price. Marketing a home is what a listing agent’s job really is all about. And, if the truth be known, some agents and agencies do more than...
