Sorry all I posted the nifty grinding wheel I found under "Wreck of the Dago"-you can see pictures there.
About 3 weeks ago I found an old outboard in about 35 feet of water near Mark Island.
Not in terrible shape, light metallic blue/gray in color, classic 2-blade prop maybe 7" in diameter.
Should I recover it? Does this have any value to a collector for example? I would speculate prob. from the 1940s??? Maybe 1950s???
I know from recovering weapons we leave them in the water until we're ready to turn them over. Removing an object from the water can be very bad for the metal so I left it in place for a future recovery if there's a point to it.
