I thought I had seen a thread recently on Canoe, but for the life of me I can't find it...

Went with three generations of family on Thursday night. summary first. Fantastic with one minor suggestion

Seated on time. Waitress (Emily) was great. Knew to ask if she should take kids orders when placing our drink orders to get them going. 6 great meals (and for my 4 yr old, probably the biggest grilled cheese she had ever seen!).

Food was excellent. Parents had beef, we had fish. both over the top. Great appetizers.

Our only observation is that as pace picked up (we had started with a half empty place at 5:30), waitress seemed to have a few too many tables, and service pace slowed enough to notice.

Will go back soon, and highly recommend.

(Sorry TB and Sunset, I can't help myself with another restaurant post)

Canoe is one of my favorites around the lake. They do everything well, have a good menu and nice atmosphere. Like any restaurant, they have an occasional slipup but are quick to fix them.

I can't say enough good things about their calamari and lobster mac & cheese :liplick:

Today's Union Leader had a pretty long write-up on Canoe.

Our Gourmet says: "Canoe excels at lakeside ambience and well-prepared food."

Someday once I get a life, I'll have to try eat'n at that there Canoe Ristorante.

went to the Canoe last night. four of us I had Salmon, wife had scallops, friends had meat loaf and lobster ravioli. All meals were well prepared and service was excellent. It was not very busy so we were able to park in the lot . Atmosphere not as good as woodshed but overall was an excellent meal

You know they don't have a dollar menu, right?

The Canoe (http://magicfoodsrestaurantgroup.com/canoe/) is one of our favorites. I love the calamari and sweet potato fries. :liplick: Maybe one day maybe I will try something different.

Nice thing is you can take your boat to the town docks, call them up and they will pick you up. When you are done they will drive you back.
