I picked my copy up this past weekend at the Country Bookseller in Wolfeboro. It is beautifully done, a wonderful coffee table book.

Thanks for the tip RG. I stopped by on Saturday morning and got my copy as well - and it's autographed! And I had a chance to say hello to Flyguy! All in all a great start to the long weekend.

Hi, folks - Thanks for your kind words about our book, "The Lakes Region of New Hampshire: Four Seasons, Countless Memories."
Some of you may know my name since I've been a journalist in the Lakes Region for the last 15 years - about five for the Daily Citizen, five at the Sunday Citizen and the last five at The Laconia Sun.
The idea for the book - one filled with great images of the Lakes Region - came from local bookstore owners/managers who told me they get asked for this book every day. Until now, there was nothing that showcased the special beauty of the area we all love. Now it's all here: the summer moonlight shimmering off Meredith Bay; sailboats rocking serenely in the autumn waters of Squam Lake; aerial views of Gunstock Mountain Resort; and plenty of romantic lakeside and mountains views.
The book is divided into four seasons and there's special "stories" about ice-harvesting on Squam, taking a spring trip on the Mount Washington - and the "Best of the Lakes Region", drawn from the last few year's of New Hampshire magazine's annual "Best of NH" edition.
At our book-signing events we've received many positive comments about the book - it features 14 photographers including your local "flyguy" and Daryl Carlson of The Citizen.
One more note: I recently learned that we're very possibly going to "sell out" of the hardcover editions of this book before July 4th. That doesn't mean you won't be able to find them, they may be in the bookstores. But it does mean that if you want one - a first-edition, hand-numbered and signed - you'd better be aware they could be going quick. If you're not in the area, you can order one on our website, www.carboneproductions.com
Again, thanks for your support.

I just did a survey of the pictures in the book. It was quite impressive. I really enjoyed the fantastic photos. I plan to read the commentary in the near future.

On a personal note, I went to school for printing and had a course or two in typography. I enjoyed seeing the description of the typographic elements used at the end of the editors page. Very cool.

I guess the best complement I can offer is that while I was enjoying the pictures, I kept thinking that if I ever want to show someone why we think the lakes region is such a special place, I will show them this book. If you don't get it after seeing these images, you never will.

Thank You.
