Hi, I have a 1957 Johnson Seahorse 3 HP outboard that I use on my 12 foot aluminum. I broke the propeller and am searching for another. I can't seem to locate any on a straight web search. I still see alot of the older Johnsons out there but finding parts....hmmm. Anyone know where I could go to find a prop for this motor? Maybe they don't even make these parts anymore? Any help is appreciated.

Check with Fay's Boat Yard in Gilford. They seem to have or know where to find older parts.

Back in the day Outboard Marine Corp had up to 26 different outboard brands. This means that there are other props that will fit your motor besides just Johnson. The first that comes to mind are Evinrude, Gale, Buccaneer and if my brain cells weren't dead I could name more.
It also wouldn't hurt to check with OLDER boat dealers that just might have some old parts kicking around. I know Ward's in Ossipee has some 50's motors. Not recommending, just mentioning. I also see these at antique shops for short money on occasion.
Good luck.

When I need parts for old motors, I go to this web site and see what they have.

I suggest contacting Dave at Dave's Motor Boat Shoppe in Gilford -- right next to Beans and Greens. He has a neat collection of old outboards from 1 HP and up, but under 20 HP from what I remember him telling us a few weeks ago. If he doesn't have a prop, i'll bet he can find you one. It's one of his hobbies and has been for some time -- he has quite the collection of old outboards.

Try at some of the older outboard dealers such as Parker in Alton Bay.
I had an OLD Johnson is fixed and was looking for parts. Contacted OMC and one place they suggested was Thurstons.
Good LUCK!

I had to have work done on my OMC lower end on my Cobalt and they did excellent work and was done extremly fast, Dropped off on a Sunday, was done on by Wednesday and was waiting at their dock on Friday afternoon for me

I had a 1967 Evinrude 10hp on my aluminum boat, I believe my grandfather used Thurstons for parts as well. They dont make them like that anymore, that thing would start on the first pull after sitting all winter when it was 20+ years old. I dont know who we sold it to, but I bet it still runs!!
