Canoe Launch Alton Bay?

Is there a spot around the inflow of the Merrymeeting River, where I can dump a canoe in?

There is a public ramp at Alton Bay about 1/4 mile from the bridge where the river flows in.
There is public parking next to the ramp as long as you don't have a boat trailer. Trailer parking is about a mile away on Letter S Road. I assume that you will car top the canoe so parking near the ramp will be no problem.
