Very impressive Scott! Thanks for sharing them with us. What kind of camera are you using?

It's a 2.1MP Olympus C2100UZ digital camera. They are 16 second exposures (to increase the chance of catching a bolt) at F4.5.

Excellent photos, Scott! Thank you.
Edxcellent photos, Scott. Thanks I've got an Olympus 2.1 D-490 digital Zoom. I think your photos are going to get me to take a look at the manuel again. Mine is pretty much set up all auto. I'd love to get lightening shots.

It appears that the storm was coming right at you. It is amazing how small a storm can make you feel.

It looks like you've found a good spot for lightning strikes in photos 2,3, and 4. The lightning appears to be hitting the same two spots over the treeline. Is there a tower, powerlines, or granite outcropping over your hill there? Joe Btfsplk?
It is amazing how small a storm can make you feel.
Hurricanes, thunderstorms, the open ocean, the night sky -- sometimes just leaning against a tall New Hampshire white pine with a strong wind whistling through it -- makes you feel small.
Maybe it's what Henry David Thoreau felt when he wrote about New Hampshire: "I long for Wildness..."
