*****You could also park at Elacoya State Park, or on the ice in Minge Cove. *****

If they use the public ramp at Glendale and drive to Minge Cove, they may not park there because you pay taxes on the ice in Minge Cove???

GWC,

90 percent of the trucks and trailers do not park on the ice as you suggest nor do they unload elsewhere. They take what little parking there is already so those of us who own the property can't use it. Not to mention the poor guy who is running his business in there. Would it be ok if I come and park my truck and trailer in the middle of your driveway that you pay for? Give me your address........ Didn't think so. Don't go down " the water is public" argument with this one.

Sounds like you have an ax to grind with your association's board and/or manager about the parking situation.

Please address your complaint to the proper party - the forum is not the proper arena for the resolution of your complaint.

The original poster mentioned parking on the ice at Minge cove without mentioning using Island Marina property for access.

The ice IS public, albeit not a good idea to park in a cove that has an inlet into the Lake, as one poster mentioned.

Again, please address your complaint to the proper party - the forum is not the proper arena for the resolution of your complaint.

Apparently I was wrong, the ice must be thick enough in Minge Cove for the tow truck brought that burnt out car in their. Car did not look to weigh that much but a tow truck. I still do not like the idea of vechicles on the ice in Minge cove though.

Tell me, do you tie a car up to the dock their like you would a boat?

Nah, just park your vehicle and trailer in the middle of the cove, ESE of the buoy, and through out the anchor - two if the wind is blowing steady.

The water (and ice) is public...

But the docks and access ramp to that ice are private.

Great Idea..

GWC,

Informing the public regarding misinformation(Minge is a place to park) IS relevant to this forum as it is factual and useful information. As for suggesting that parking at Minge on the ice meant not using the marina launch or access.... please.... that's a long drive around on the ice. Sorry you didn't like the facts I provided, however don't tell me it isn't relative when it effects the rights of tax paying owners as well as a local business that depends on being able to access his building/boats. Many of the marina owners have been unable to drive into the lot due to the folks that have decided that the rules don't apply. They do apply. The signs at the marina are clear and say nothing about seasonal exceptions. Last time I checked my taxes covered the entire year not just the summer months. Please adhere to the rules as you would expect the same regarding your property.

Re-read my original post to this thread.

The Island Marina issue was not part of this thread's original post.

Glendale offers public access.

The poster was simply offering suggestions for parking a vehicle and trailer when at the Lake when the ice is safe enough for vehicles.

Also, IMA only owns land at the end of Minge cove, not the entire cove.

You still do not understand? Wow!

The original poster only suggested parking on the ice in Minge cove - of which you do not pay property taxes. Access to Minge cove was not stated. You decided access was from IMA. Were you this thread's original poster? Were you setting the stage for an arena to air your dissatisfaction with your association's board's inability to provide sufficient parking?

Obviously, you have an ax to grid and used this forum to seek resolution for a complaint that needs to be addressed by your association's board.

Guess that's why your association members have such a challenging time parking.

How many spaces are occupied by boats being stored on the premise?

How many parking spaces are allocated per membership? One, two, or one and a half?

Does a vehicle and trailer constitute two spaces, instead of one? Is that using more than your membership allows, if you store your boat on the property during the Winter?

It's sad that an association that has been in existence for over a decade is unable to get it's act together, regarding parking.

It may not have been the original topic ... but when people start bringing up using Minge it gets my blood boiling...

IMA is not the only property on the cove ... but it is the only property with a launch ramp. All the other properties are homes.

No one should be thinking about using IMA any more than parking their trailer in one of the other property's driveway and heading out to the lake through their backyard...
