Alton Old Home Days are this weekend - thought I'd let y'all know!

On Saturday (8/9), there's going to be a 5K road race, craft fair, fireworks and lots more! I believe there's going to be a parade, exhibits, and a home show again that day - should be something for everyone that day! The local band Bittersweet is going to be playing behind Profile Bank during the day (Argie plays in Bittersweet)! :)

What type of music does Bittersweet play? I know Argie has played many types over the years. He played with my nephew many years ago in Laconia.

Alton Bay - Good question.... I checked around and The Baysider had some good info about a chili contest, bike decorating contest, pie eating contest, children's games and a home show but no mention of a boat show... If I talk to Reuben (Alton Home Center) before the event, I'll find out for you...

UPDATE: I have it from a good source that the boat show will be at the Bay from 9am to about noontime. Enjoy!!!

By the way - do you have personalized license plates "ABAY"? If so, thanks for letting me thru traffic the other day! I was grinning/waving redhead in the white minivan! Thank you!!!!

Gus62 - So you know Argie, eh? Well, then you know that the man has never met a microphone he didn't like. He's been with Bittersweet for about four years now and they play oldies rock music - lots of CCR, Tom Petty, Steppenwolf, Rolling Stones, Cream.... you get the idea, I'm sure. C'mon by! They'll be by Profile Bank on Main St. for most of the day - it's a long gig but they're really excited about it! :D

Is there an antique boat show this year??
I saw the poster for Old Home Day yesterday and it did say there was a boat show although it isn't mentioned on the town's WEBSITE (http://www.alton.nh.gov/Main.asp) .

Fireworks start at dusk. (9:00-9:30).
