I know I have been down this road before but lets travel it one more time for old time sakes. I am a Merideth resident on the Merideth/Ctr Harbor line. For years I would launch my boat from the Ctr Harbor ramp because I had purchased a sticker from Merideth town hall that allowed me to use The town dump and as it says on the sticker, Ctr Harbor facilities. I would always show this to the attendant at the ramp and he would allow me to launch. For the past two years, even with the sticker, they want to charge me $10.00 to launch. What is up with that? Ctr Harbor residents use the Merideth town Dump. Do we charge them $10.00 each trip to throw out their trash? And on the sticker, it says Ctr Harbor facilities. OK, can someone tell me what "facilities they are referring too? I would really like to get my monies worth. And don't the people who make these decisions realize that not only do we launch our boats there, but we might shop at Heaths first to bring food and drinks out with uor stop at Heaths Hardware to purchase boating supplies. I refuse to pay the $10.00 and will either wait until the attendant is gone or will launch from Merideth, and at the same time, do all my shopping in my own town.
So, my question is really, what can be done about this? Or is the final solution in my last sentence.

I recently called the Meredith Town Manager's office and was told that that is the case. They could not tell me why, just that it is so. One slight consolation is that Center Harbor residents either can not now or soon will not be able to use Meredith launch ramps. Seems kind of silly to me, for the very reasons you state, but I guess we'll just either go to Shep's or just launch when we know they aren't there. One year there was just a young kid there so I told him I didn't have any money on me and I would be back to pay him later. Better to owe it to them then cheat them out of it.....NOT! :D

When there is no attendant there, I just leave the money in an envelope at the dock.

I think I'll start leaving my trash there, then the attendant can use our facility in Merideth and save me the trip.
