Snow

Hi - can someone please comment on the amount of snow on average left in a Moultonborough yard? Are we still measuring in feet or inches?:laugh:

I still have between 3 to 4 feet of snow in my yard. At the bottom of the drive way the pile is about 7' high, down from 10'. It got to the point I had to go out and "snow blow" the drive way before the plow guy came, as the pile was cutting off access to the back of the House. At one point my Snowmobiles were trapped in my cellar workshop for 2 weekends. It took about 4 hours of chopping and snow blowing to get to within about 10' of the doors. The last 10' was a pile of frozen ice and snow that was shoveled of my roof. Fortunately I have a neighbor with a tractor who came to my rescue to clear that last 10'.

Still 26 inches on the ground at Black Cat Island. Amount is posted with the other weather data at www.blackcatnh.com.

Many South-facing sloped areas exposed to the sun all day long (especially afternoon) are now bare thanks to the strong sun. North-facing areas and shaded areas are still covered. Deep.

DPG I would say feet but not many. I was just looking at the 2 cams at my house online and the dark side yard where the boats are still are 3 plus feet but out front it is melting and has packed. The driveway which was 3 plus inches of solid ice is half melted.

These long days make for a lot of sun hours, so regardless of temp (almost)we are losing snow each sunny day. We are now closer to the longest sunlight day - summer solstice, than we are away from it. Yeah!!!
