What an evening! I awoke at 2:15 am to the shouts of distress from a small capsized boat with five passengers. After the 911 call, I tried to take the Meredith police to the boat, but couldn't get my outboard motor started! Fortunately, the Marine Patrol was extremely fast, with two boats arriving within a few minutes.
Needless to say, no one should be out boating at 2:15 am, especially when the water temperature is still in the mid-50's.
Great job Binz, good thing you are a light sleeper otherwise this could have been a tragic story.

Why am I thinking, "alcohol was involved"?

Several of my neighbors and guests heard the shouts for help aprox 2:15 am. They called police. What type of boat were these folks in?? Was there a salvage of the sunkin boat??

According to New England Cable News and the Concord Monitor the operator was charged with 'boating while intoxicated'. It looked like a very small boat with an outboard from what NECN showed in their footage.
