Is anybody using the standard StarDot NetCam with the a 1/3" Sharp 640x480 RGB Frame-Transfer CCD? I'm thinking of upgrading but don't want to break the bank and I may have found one of those on the cheap.

I'd love to have the megapixel version, but can't find one of those cheap. Instead, I've settled on the standard 640x480 and it works fine. I also splurged for the temperature/humidity probe. Ebay was my source, and they were cheap - but both failed. The good news is that Stardot fixed one for free and replaced the other for not much money. The cameras work good in very cold weather. I added a wireless bridge to mine, so it can work far away from the house, but have found that the wireless bridge fails at about 15 degrees. If you buy a used one, make sure its a V2 and not V1. Those are not supported any more if they have a hardware failure. Its so nice having the camera! For example, today, I'm far away on a business trip, and was able to watch the snow pile up. Its almost (but not quite) like being there.

You can also look at:

The main picture is from the top of the Ossipees (daylight hours), on the top right is the Moultonboro Bay Cam link. They both are 640x480 V2 cams.
