Looking for recommendations for someone to install my woodstove on Rattlesnake, possible someone who works for a stove shop and is looking for a side job. Or, a local shop who will come out to the island. I have all transportation covered
Thanks

Energysavers out of Meredith, I know they have been out to the islands before.

I am told by my chimney sweep that EnergySavers typically only runs your chimney liner halfway up the chimney. I had to have someone else come in and finish the job. If you are having your chimney lined make sure it is done right. My impression that I was paying top dollar to EnergySavers to have it done right the first time was not correct and a costly mistake. Can anyone else comment?

Sorry to hear about that experience, but I think it was probably the exception, and not the norm. Have had many experiences with them and been very satisfied.

Formula,
We need the same thing, let's see if we can get a discount if we group buy and save them a trip to the island and do it at the same time.

Just how big is the woodstove?
My Waterford weighs 600 pounds, but it came in lots of easy-to-carry boxes. Putting it together was easier than assembling some Christmas toys! :emb:
At yard sales, I managed to find some 6" stainless steel pipe sections and a few Metalbestos leftovers to link to an existing metal chimney. All stainless steel—and I wouldn't use anything else.
Assembling the whole thing was easy—like assembling LEGO blocks. :look:
The only failure over these years was the steel spark screen (topside), which disintegrated after just two years.
While a big fan of woodstoves, I bought an island house just this week in Florida, and the insurance company asked if I had a fireplace—then seemed to press the issue asking if I had — — a woodstove. (Horrors)
While the answer was "no" to both questions, now I'm wondering about the desirability of a woodstove on my island in the first place.
(Delivery/availability of wood, cutting, splitting, "building to code", spark hazard, insurance, etc.)

Talk to Steve at ISS. A woodstove is not a big deal to install. He did our gas fireplace which was vented up through the roof.
