We just left T-Bones. Chowder was pretty good but so far George's Diner seems to be the winner in the best clam chowder category. Nice big chunks of clams and potatoe. Although there seemed to be one ingredient missing in George's chowder but I just couldn't put my finger on it.

I have 1 night left, any others have picks for best chowder?

Trying to remember all the places we've eaten while here is becoming a blur. What a way to go...............:liplick:

Not sure if it's clam chowder or seafood chowder, but either way Patricks in Gilford is well worth a try.

I do not order chowder often, maybe three or four times a year (excepting an occasional chowder-fest competition).

Without doubt, Kevin's clam chowder is the best I have had in the region. For those that like flour-thickened chowder/paste, Kevin's will disappoint. But if you enjoy fresh clams, onions, seasoning, Kevin's chowder is tops.

Now I'm sorry I didn't make it there.:(

Been my favorite for years. Never tried Kevin's so I'll give it a shot.

I always thought the fried clams at the dairy bar across the street from Kevin's were the best. Because of traffic one Friday afternoon on the way to the lake, I ended up at The Red Blazer in Concord of Manchester St. exit. They are the best I had outside of Kennebunkport!

Ok. BroadHopper, you had to introduce fried clams into this forum on chowder. You might want to visit the following forum discussion on the subject of best chowder:

My wife and I have made a habit of visiting Kevin's on Friday evenings. Kevin has an "all-you-can-eat" fried clam special on Friday's. I can report that his dining rooms have been very busy each and every Friday evening that we attended this year primarily because of this special. I can't personally speak to the quality of his fried clams since I choose to never order fried foods of any kind, but am impressed with the traffic that Kevin's enjoys with this featured special. As regular Kevin's customers we can attest to the freshness of his raw foods and his careful attention to preparation and food presentation. Kevin cares about his craft and, if you have the patience on busy nights, he will not disappoint.
