View Full Version : Forum Fest 4 Question

I asked this question in a different thread but thought it should have its own thread. How about picking a date for Forum Fest 4 now so people can make their plans early? It would save a whole lot of last minute hassles. People "from away" would be able to make their reservations: you could mark the date on your calendar IN INK: we could reserve a great place to have it. It's never too early to start planning such a great event. What are your thoughts?

Quilt lady, excellent fore thought.... last year I missed out because I couldn't fit it into my schedule...
I would think that the weekend after Labor Day would be a good choice....The chaos of summer is over, the weather as long as it doesn't rain should be nice... and it is before the rush of the 2nd Loudon Nascar weekend, and camp closing time.

I vote for the weekend after Labor Day, too. We're on the cusp of autumn. Any later and it is noticeably cooler. It's also the weekend that Bizer starts it's buoy survey for the year so I know I'll be in the area.
I also vote for the Mini-Forum-Fest at Waldo's (Let's give him some credit, too) on the first weekend that they're open.

What's wrong with a Summer FF4? First 2 weeks of August?:)

We could have both.

There was some talk about LSP again for 2007. The earlier I request the date.. the better the chance of getting an OK from the Board of Directors. This would be the low cost.. ($0.00) choice.
I really like the idea of finding a new hall to hold the event.. BUT... early August might be easier to find. September is a prime "gettin hitched" time of year, and I'll bet allot of the halls at hotels are booked already.
Now maybe this sounds off the wall.. but what about having the event becone a "Taste of The Lakes" event and inviting all of the local eateries that we all give so much free publicity too? They could provide the food... and win the Winnipesaukee.com seal of approval...
PS here are the dates.... Labor Day 9/3 Nascar 9/16... the open weekend would be 9/8-9

We also like to do something in late March... a mini-fest to kick off the season...
LSP was great last year, especially considering the weather... It was also nice to be outside at Cate Park in Wolfeboro the previous two years.... where one could arrive by boat and enjoy the views.
So many choices....
My first choice would be to be outside next to the lake. :coolsm:
Second choice LSP
I have no third choice... we do not have any money to rent a place anyway.

I really enjoyed the LSP, it was perfect and takes away the threat of Mother Nature reaching into her bag of tricks to put a damper on things. Mini Fest 4 sounds good!:D

This is selfish, because I am up there every year during the last week of June and the first week of July?
Maybe a mini forum fest before the fireworks in Wolfeboro?
Just my 2 cents.

Lets not forget this important topic.... just thought I would move it to the top again to try and kick start the discussion a second time....

Someday I think I'd like to attend...
Can a FF guest go to LSP by boat and expect to find dock space?

Dock space at LSP is very hard to come by. We have a waiting list for slips due to the fact that there are more "members" than slips.
So "expect to find" is a no... but... if some folks have pulled their boats for the season on Labor Day weekend.. it is "possible" . It would have to be a wait and see..
Sorry

Would it be presumptuous to suggest a private home for FF IV? I met many of you @ FF III and think it would be very nice to share my summer home with you all for a get together in the summer sometime in the 1st 2 weeks of August. We could supply cinder blocks for anchors, as the dock space is limited to 2 or 3 boats, but as it would be summer we could could swim to shore or we have several row boats, canoes, and kayaks to transport guests arriving in boats to shore. Location Moultonborough 1st Neck.
The greatest joy of having something of great value is sharing it.:)

For very good reasons, the previous ForumFest's have been held post-Labor Day. But by doing so, we preclude many who have already left because of the start of school.
How about we do one this summer that is in season?
I hesitated to suggest this as, like many, the weekends during the summer are always full. But I've found the post-Labor-Day ones are no less demanding. Perhaps we could have more attend if we select a summer weekend.

Since I'd really like t to make it this year- the more time in advance the better. Any date would probably work with at least 2 months advance notice. owever- if we're casting votes- I'd pick the week OR two after Labor Day. I 'll be up there for the NASCAR race anyway this year. Great always, to chat with you all.

I can do either summer or post-summer; I haven't been able to attend in the past because Mondays are a no-take-off day in my job. If there is anyone else out there who would prefer a Saturday FF over a Sunday, please speak up!!!!!!!1
