View Full Version : Pickup truck cap
I am looking for a good place to purchase a new fiberglass cap for my pickup truck. Any suggestions or recommendations for a dealer? I would like to order one already painted to match the truck color. Taylor Rental in Belmont quoted me a price of $1,100. Is this what I should expect to spend?
Thanks,
Gary
That's just about what I paid for a Leer cap for my dodge ram quadcab pickup with a 6' bed about 7 years ago. Can't really help you with the vendors up around the lake as I bought ours from capworld in MA. Just to give you an idea they didn't seem to go up too much over the years pricewise if that was what was quoted you. Ours has the sliding front window to match the trucks slider window and then it has two longer fixed windows each side with shorter ones that pop open and then the swing up rear window. They had them to match various truck colors too.

The Line-X distributor on 106 sells caps also. Price sounds about right.
there are deals on ebay. since they are too big to ship, buyers and sellers need to be in close proximity to each other. This can limit the number of buyers and avoid a bidding war. I got a cap for my Dakota for $155, and paid a local shop $100 to paint it to match my truck.

For the low price of just ten dollars, last winter I purchased a fixer-upper, fiberglass cap that came off of a 1980 Volkswagen Pup, from The Good Shoppe Lollypop on Route 104 in New Hampton. It's a terrific fit for my 1931 Chevy pick-up. Painted it Rustoleum hammered dark grey so it blends good with the olde satin black on the Chevy.
The Good Shop Lollypop looks like it has about five used caps on their rack and their prices are "always low prices."
