I was wondering if we are going to be able to make it to West Alton Marina on Saturday morning. We will be traveling up Rte. 28. Does anyone know if any of RTE. 28 or RTE. 11 is closed?
Thanks Bill

I took a ride up to Wolfeboro yesterday afternoon from Hooksett and 28 is open. Several areas had to be closed Sunday and Monday and the water along the road in several places is very high still, but it's all passable. Watch out for pot holes though, all the rain has taken a number on the road surface.
Not sure about Rt 11.

Rt28 at the Alton / Barnstead line was closed for a while but I believe is now re-opened. WMUR has updated their list (http://www.wmur.com/weather/9214227/detail.html) of road closures but I note that a number of roads destroyed in Alton are not listed therein, so it isn't complete. The State is also keeping a list, which can be found here (http://www.nh.gov/governor/news/NHFlood2006.htm). I expect that by Sat any roads closed solely due to high water, but otherwise not damaged, will be opened.

Everyone I've talked to that drive in that particular area are saying everythings at least open, if only 1 lane for now.

WAM had a washout Sat night / Sunday right after the 1st left hand turn on the road in to the Marina. I just got back from WAM checking on my boat, and they have repaired that, but it is repaired with some large rock fill, so slow go on the way in.

Thanks for the heads up upthesaukee. How does it look in the Marina? The water must be very high
Thanks Bill

Using the charts on the NH DES website, I just ran a comparison with the highest water level from last October. The lake is currently 0.6 inches below the highest reading we saw back then.
Today's reading is 2.64 inches higher than yesterdays, and inflow is still way, way higher than what Keeper could possibly set as an outflow.
Bottom line, there's no way that we're not going to see a significantly higher lake level than we did last October before this is done!

As you may or may not know, they did a little "remodelling" of dock space. the last "U" of docks before you get to where the gas dock is, which had some trees off the end and a grassy area and some straight in docks at the end, well, they are now gone and that "U" is like the others over toward the maintenance area, that is no docks off the closed end. (how's that for a run on sentence????? Mrs Bell would have me after class for that one  .) Anyway, I checked my boat, and the water is right at the bottom of the docks, and when I reached in to manually turn on my bilge pump, I had trouble reaching over the windshield of my bowrider and down to the bilge switch. Water is certainly up. Shouldn't have to worry about having the lower unit all the way down:rolleye2: .
See you in the neighborhood!!!!
Hey Bill, if you can't make it thru the deep water maybe it's time for you to buy a bigger truck. I'm sure you must be due for a new one, probably haven't bought a new one for a year or so. I don't remember, is this the year for a new truck or boat? I get confused, you go thru so many. :rolleye2:

Are you who I think you are? Did you defect to the Midwest from the Great State of NH?
Guess who!:D

Bope, You spelled my name wrong. What no lakes in cheeseville?
How did you find this?

I don't think you should be bustin mine about some Gaelic spelling when you can't get a two letter all-American word right. Just because I'm in Cheeseville doesn't mean I've given up making sure you're treating the great state of New Hampshire right since they kicked you out and gave you furlough rights. I have my spies watching you Mister.:emb:
