Glidden Cove Area

I am considering buying a house on Winni. I'm in the very preliminary stages now...I haven't even bothered to look at the place yet. I'm more concerned about the location. I know that the house is located on Rollins Rd, which is in the Glidden Cove area, (more specifically Mill Cove). I'd like to know any and all impressions/experiences you have had with the area, and also how heavy the boat traffic is on the Glidden Cove side of Sleeper's Island. It will be about a month before I can get up to the lake, so any pictures of the Mill Cove/Glidden Cove area are also appreaciated! Thanks... :)

Thanks, I believe the property is in Mill Cove, but information's a little sketchy at this point.

It will spoil the fun... But it has to do with my favorite restaurant near by there. Before you start thinking that I may be parking in some one else’s spot to walk up the hill there for a great night with my friends, remember I have a rather large sailboat and it's a shallow area. I guess that's why god made dinghies, right?. But I got to you tell you it ‘s a dam good thing I don’t live there… Those "Snowball in Toberlone sauce" would certainty be death of me.

I'll "Tell" you that the particular establishment WD is referring to is the "Apple" of my eye as well. :liplick:

Speaking of restaurants in that general vicinity, there was once a restaurant called the Edgewater located in that area. Anyone remember where it was?

...and is now the home of American Legion Post 72. After it was the Edgewood, I believe the name changed slightly to "White's Edgewood Restaurant."

I have oh so many fond memories of that restaurant, starting with my one year of going to Brewster Academy in 63-64 school year (bus from Mass always stopped there, so I always had enough for a hamburger and a coke) right up to the end in the 90's. It was a favorite with my parents, and a lot memories of my Dad kidding with a waitress named Peg B. . Dad passed away in 1988, but Peg remained a good friend to my Mom til Mom died in 2000. Sadly, Peg passed away just a few months ago.

Oh yes, good food, good service, good prices, good place for families.

I remember Edgewood as well in the Alton Circle, but there was another place called "Edgewater" (I think that was the name) somewhere in or near Gilford. I remember it being around in the late 80's, but can't remember where it was.
