Is the museum accessible by boat from the lake? A long walk is not practical, as my wife is nursing an injured foot.

Thanks.

Unfortunately Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society (http://www.lwhs.us/) is not accessible by boat. You would definitely have to drive to it.
It's right next to Funspot (http://www.funspotnh.com/mws-directs.htm) on Route 3.
While over that way, be sure to take a drive up to Akwa Soleil (http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2450&highlight=akwa+soleil). The view is fantastic.
PS: Angling in the Smile of the Great Spirit by Hal Lyon is quite popular with many forum members. (http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1712&highlight=angling+smile+great+spirit) :)
