We have seen some great looking private fireworks shows around the lake over the past few years. Does anybody know any local firms or people who do a really good job putting on small fireworks displays?

Sure it's just not people buying them themselves? I've seen people drop some serious dollars at fireworks stores. Hiring someone is big bucks, our association used to put a display on every year. I understand it was thousands of dollars.

What stores carry that kind of fire power? I thought NH stopped selling the good stuff over 10 years ago but clearly, someone is selling them. Some of the private shows are pretty impressive!

LG, I don't know about the Lakes Region as far as fireworks, but there are several here on the Coast -- specifically, along Route 1 in Seabrook. I've heard they make the trip worthwhile, if you want to put on a good private show -- reasonable prices and awesome results!

You can definitely buy really good stuff at the various stores around the state. And most run "Buy One Get One Free" sales every year just prior to the 4th of July.

NH fireworks are mostly kiddie stuff and HUGELY overpriced....we buy ours in Tennessee each year returning from Fla. They are the most powerful and spectacular that you can buy.Up to 500 grams of powder in each display.I have a show at our company party each year and people tell me it rivals the professional shows. If you can't make it to tennessee,South Carolina is next best.

As someone who used to have fun* with pyrotechnics, I have to say there have been some nice private shows on the lake this year. Just last week there was quite a display up the bay across from Echo Pt. Some of the display must have been professional shells and they didn't look much different from what the town did earlier this year !

*Back in the day we used to do a July 4'th show for the people on my friends pond in ME. Got quite an applause when a 2 stage silver jet ignited the whole shebang out on the raft one year .... hmmm.... the last we did it as I recall
