Anybody know why the power was off for two hours on Long Island (10 of 8 to almost 10 pm) and some other islands: the Bears, Cow, etc.; no storms so was just wondering. If you call NH Elec Coop, they're good about telling you where the power is off so you're aware that they're looking into it. Speaking of outages, I've noticed power outages seem to happen frequently on Long Island and the islands - sometimes only for a minute - sometimes longer - usually daily or every third day. Just curious as to the frequency. Other Long Island friends (not JL-ers) have noticed it too.

Don't know why the frequent outages, but I live near Harilla's and have noted surges a few times a day. Two weeks ago the cause was not so mysterious as lightening split a 200 foot pine tree by the water in back of my house. My computer fried ( despite surge protector ) and had no phones, cable, or power for quite a while and the tree was taken down the next morning. That same week, a power surge knocked out the LCD display on the microwave. The PART would have cost $290.00 so we now have a new microwave. At least no one was hurt and it is only "stuff."
