Hi there,

Everyone is always so helpful here on the site, I was hoping that you might have some suggestions for a location for a wedding. We are looking for THIS Sept or Oct if possible.

However, I have no clue where to look for info. Maybe a website of locations on or around the lake?? We are looking for THIS September (indoor reception) for about 100-125 people.

Also, I know that SAMIAM stated that there was a Chapel on Winnisquam that was nice.... do you have more info on that? Is it non-denominational? We are Catholic, however, our priest would like to come up and preform the ceremony.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

THANKS!!!

We held our daughters wedding at the chapel on Church Island on Squam......It was magical with the lake and mouintains surrounding the island. Not that pricey, either. You have to book the boats in advance ....and the weather is usually good in the fall.

Hope this helps - how are the nerves holding up - butterflies, yet (http://www.squamweddingcharter.com/churchislandcharter.html)?

P.S.- Some past suggestions regarding a wedding cake (http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/showthread.php?t=762). :liplick:

Butterflies are more like HAWKS right now! Once we find a venue I will be much better.

THANK YOU for the help!

The Mills Falls hotels (there's four of them) in Meredith offer wedding packages. The newest one (Church Landing) is very nice. I was there in February and there was a wedding going on. The wedding party seemed to be having a great time. Millsfalls.com is their website. Check it out.

I was married at Chase House on 9/13/03 and would be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Our wedding was perfection -- The Inns really do a fabulous job!

Lakewinni....I think that Church landing could hook you up with the Church Island people.Yes,you can bring your own priest and there is an organ, pews for several hundred people.....it is absolutely breathtaking....not too pricey either....just the boats for transporting your guests.Only drawback is the weather.....if you get rain it's not pretty. We booked a church for the same day as a backup but had beautiful weather.

Another vote for Chase house at the Inns of Mill Falls. They were FLAWLESS with their execution of our reception. May be difficult to get on short notice though.

Hi,
I'm a Bear Islander too. Are you a Eastie or a Westie?

I have no personal experience with the above group but since it hasn't been mentioned in this thread I thought I add it as an option for you to consider.

ps - did you see this thread http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1632&highlight=wedding+reception

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! You are all so very help. I believe we are going to go with the Chase House. We are very excited.

Now, I just have to find all the other vendors.... Flowers, DJ, Limo (or boats) and church! Just the "small" details. LOL

Thank you again,
Wendy

DJ Chuck Knoll or knowl, can't remember the spelling, he lives in the Manchester area. He understands how to keep the party going without being in the way and obnoxious! The Flowers and Cake were both recommended by the chase house. Both were excellent. We had all we could do to not eat the top layer of cake before our 1 yr. anniversary. It was almost as good a year later too! Good luck and don't hesitate to ask any questions you have!

Wendy,

Chase House is very good about supplying a list of recommended vendors, but if you have any questions I'd be happy to share my experiences with the vendors that I used (All good!)!

I'm a Westie....Our place faces Mark Island and is very close to Camp Lawrence. I'm literally counting the days until ice-out so that we can open for the season!

I know one brave Forum member who has hosted weddings for at least one, and I believe TWO, of his daughters on his lakefront lawn! If he reads this, he may be able to provide some insights.

TWO outdoor weddings at home! YIKES, I bet he has enough knowledge about the stuff to open a business as a wedding planner! LOL I don't have nerves that could take worrying about rain for an outdoor wedding!!
