For those of us that monitor VHF channel 16 on the Lake Mighty-MO is an old friend on the other end of the radio. He is a blind guy who lives on a moutain in Melvin Village and keeps track of boaters on our Lake. How many times have we been kept safer by his broadcasts...."Hello all boaters, Hello all boaters on Lake Winnipesaukee... for a weather update switch to channel 68." He is NH Marine Patrol Auxiliary and a true asset to us all.
I know when my kids were underway having Mighty-MO (he served on the USS Missouri of which he is vastly proud) keeping an "eye" on the radio gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.
Well, Mighty-MO has just come back from a stay in the hospital. ' Nasty cancer thing. But he is recovering OK.
As I said, he is blind and does not do computers; he's a radio guy. So with his permission I will give out his home address for any get well card well wishers out there. His wife Hellen (Daffy) will read them to our old friend and, let us hope, make his recovery a little happier.
