Having been on a pwc for all of maybe five minutes, one time, ever; this new hybred type of a pwc, the SeaDoo 3D looks kind of interesting. What is it? It mixes the old style of stand-up jet ski with the contemporary sit-down style pwc. While the old stand-up style is very, very difficult to use, the recent sit-down style is very, very easy to use. Does this sound interesting?

Am looking for more info and links on the new SeaDoo 3D.

I would suggest that you might want to get
a test ride before you buy this jetski. I
have been riding standups for many years and
there are a couple of concerns that I have about
this boat:

1. It looks like the rider is pushed toward the

back of the boat. Often you want to ride with

your weight forward. This gives you more control

and can eliminate porpoising (don't know whether

the later is an issue). The riding style looks

uncomfortable from the picture.

2. The boat looks a bit on the heavy side and I

am not sure how responsive it is going to be

as a standup.

Best of Luck!

Check out this link. It is a video of a guy riding the first one their dealer got. Looks pretty stable to me. Sea Doo.net has a pretty good message board/forum too. If you have a Sea Doo, it is worth checking out.

Hi all,

I looked at the video - pretty entertaining. The
riding position on this thing still bothers me.
It looks like you are bent over at the waist and
the force is all on the lower back. In addition,
I noticed that the seat folds into the handle pole.
Even on my 750 SX, the weight of the handle pole
is enough to warrant putting in a counterweighting
spring. So...the pole might also be pretty heavy.

Just for comparison. Take a look at the riding
stance on the Kawasaki standups via the attached
link. The riders are much further forward in the
tray and not bend over at the waist.
