Lake Geezer

On Saturday, the ice was safe, in many spots. Those who were fishing were drilling into 18-24" of ice to find water. Near Long Island bridge, there were cars and trucks out on the ice. Several snowmobiles were out, but they were probably wearing out their machines, because there is no snow on the ice to lubricate their tracks. Near the edges of the lake, there are many soft spots and "hollow" ice. You can (I did) break through there. The north facing sides of islands are white with ice chunks that have been pushed up by the wind. Near some big rocks, there are large areas of open water. I checked a small cove that normally has ice-out three weeks before the rest of the lake. It is still solid. -lg

The ice in Tuftonboro was solid. Lots of vehicles on the ice. Many holes drilled showed 20-30 inches of ice .

Fished in Center Harbor on sunday, there was 23 inches of hard ice. A couple soft spots next to shore but there was still several trucks on the ice.

As suggested by others, don't unwrap those boats yet. Webcams this morning show areas of newly formed ice. The temps of the past few days have stopped, if not reversed any ice melt progress.
