It's nice to see restaurants offering free or greatly discounted meals for our veterans on Veteran's Day (today, Thursday, 11 November). Applebees - Thursday
Chilies - Thursday
Hooters - Thursday
Participating Subways - Free Sub
Veterans also get reduced discounts at places like Sears, Lowes, and Home Depot. They get in free at National Parks on Veterans Day at least.
Are there any local businesses offering specials to Veterans? Car washes? Haircuts? If so, I'm sure our veterans would like to know.
AND .... lest any of you wonder why the special treatment, just remember -- only returning veterans get to enjoy these small tokens of our appreciation. Small price, I would think, given that many veterans have already paid the ultimate price.
